Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

TINO spending spree - what has brown (or StackIO) done for you lately? layoffs?

not spam - let's discuss to see where all the $$$ went and decisions that could have avoided laying off so many and still doing damage

Next to hiring others to do their work that they're paid to do, TINOs love to buy buy buy and bring in more TINOs. The original Teradata team made some bad purchases in their days but none like the TINOs purchases that continue to do damage year after year and no end in sight.

We had purchases of ThinkBig, Rainstor, Aprimo, Hadapt, Kickfire, Aster, and others that eventually have no presence in the product nor made a difference in the revenue while retaining the IP and technology. The TINOs did the same with acquisitions of Appoxee, FLXone, DecisionPoint, BigData Partnership, and StackIQ. For the most part, they were negligible in their impact to the revenue but the one acquisition that continue to do damage is StackIQ.

While the StackIQ technology and IP are what they are, it's the remaining StackIQ people occupying engineering's key leadership role that is causing lasting damage. They are clueless in the database business, no spine, indecisive, and highly political to cover their incompetency. So bad and unable to match up with the rest of the TINOs ELT political animals that they brought in another layer above to make all the decisions. They are not trusted nor respected by the engineering organization. They make decisions that cost so much money, time, and resources without real revenue generating product results. If these StackIQ holdovers were gone, nothing is lost and imagine how much money we would save to avoid laying off the real workers.

Know of any other acquisitions that's continuing to damage us?
