Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Mixed Emotions

Feeling so uneasy tonight. I just realized that tomorrow is the last day for those who received a VSP. I was lucky but it’s not lost on me that tomorrow will be some’s last paycheck. We lost a total of 4 people in our area and none of them have found new jobs.

@cp It's ok. Chewbacca will start filing the H1B visa applications soon, just like he did at this stage of the playbook when he did the same thing at Citi.

For ELT, it’s all about profit and growth moving forward. The “EJ is a family” culture is dead. It will work for a little until it won’t. When culture was your strongest recruiting/retention quality, you don’t ki-l it for slightly higher profit margin. Now for the slow talent bleed…

Tomorrow has been looming and may be one of the hardest days of my life. I loved what I have been able to learn and accomplish. Still stunned and confused

@ak "Are more jobs headed to India than initially reported"

I thought the same that ISP'd associates would at least get considered for jobs we're qualified for. However, my experience is the same. I can't even get an initial interview. One "we have decided to pursue other candidates" email after another.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but it, for now, does not seem like this company wants us....even those who are qualified and top performers in our area.

Are more jobs headed to India than initially reported, such as those involving the new positions dealing with high networth individuals and Generations programs?

It is still hard to believe this is happening to a company we were all so proud to work for and represent. I just feel embarrassed and shamed now.

As someone who received an ISP, I have mixed feelings as well. Mostly fear and anger, occasionally a dash of hope before another "denied" application comes in. No one in my area has been able to find a new position in or out. None of my internal applications have even gotten an interview. I thought they would at least honor "ISP'd associates get priority" enough to fake interest in us.
