Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Keeping your job skills up-to-date

I am aware that my skills are outdated and that's why I feel lucky that I haven't been laid off yet because I can't find a new job.
Everyone keeps talking about the importance of keeping your skills sharp, but realistically, how much is it possible to keep your skills and knowledge up-to-date while working at TD and being overworked? How do you manage to do that?

Modify your work assignment so that it is what you want to do and learn.

if you are not getting it done as a priority and continue to make excuses then it is not important to you

you have unlimited vacation, wellness day, in lieu of hackathon, holiday party time, useless multi hours DEI meetings time, content free evasive all hands meetings, glint survey time, and so on

get it done as your just one thing assignment

stop working more hours than what your work life balance allows, which is normal workday and no more

extra time will get you the short term recognition and pay but does not help your longevity with the company because they will dump you once they have no use for you
