Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

@OP After the Sept 2024 layoffs, we got normal merit increases, people still got promotions, and bonuses were 10% over target. I don’t really think this cycle will be much different (maybe not the higher bonuses.) These layoffs were done to consolidate and streamline the business, not because the company is in a bad financial place.

Our company just follows whatever the trend is somewhere else. There’s no trailblazers here willing to pay us our due voluntarily. I see no sign they are interested in anything that promotes retention except on very limited circumstances

Pay rises in any company are always tied to performance ergo given to those who are performing well aka the individuals anyone would want to retain. What's different or unique about that now?
