Anyone here planning on quitting come January when RTO goes into effect?

@pd if you chose to live from away from a city, that's your choice, and that's entirely on you. If you have outsized talent, you may be able to justify your WFH role. If you are merely average, and don't like being in cities or around other people, you are in the wrong business and not a good fit for media.
It 100% is a pay cut. Some people moved further away from the office during the 5+ years of hybrid work. The extra time and money commuting to the office every day is brutal.
@p8 LOL. I love simple people like you who associate remote work with playing PS5 all day and doing the bare minimum. Maybe do a better job hiring driven and "above average" employees.
@p7 You're going to have to work 5 actual days per week. No wonder people are so upset, especially those who have been doing the bare minimum and optimizing 'average' performance.
I know more than a few who are going to see how the RTO thing goes and see how it fits in the work/life balance thing before making a decision to stay or move on.
And how do the people who were HIRED as fully remote/hybrid not feel blindsided and resentful? Sure a company has a right to do whatever they want, but forcing people from 0-2 days straight to 5 is dishonest and a breach of trust. Not to mention its a shadow pay cut as well. Im not talking about people who used to work 5 days a week here. Im talking about the fully remote and hybrid hires...now expected to come in 5 days, absorb commuting costs, office attire, meals, etc. Its definitely a sign of things to come in the new Paramount. Get in your stalls cattle and press those keys, thats all we need to hear from you.
If you are a high performer and have a big responsibility, they will absolutely be lenient on the 5 day thing. RTO is all about shadow layoffs. Theres plenty of articles on linkedin/NYT/WSJ about it. Look it up. Paramount is no different. They just wanted to weed out the people who didnt want to be here, or couldnt deal with RTO, then fill in the blanks of the rest to reach their layoff number.
@kr getting fired is terrible. You might not get severance, when the next company asks why you left or ask for references you're going to be sc--wed.
Why didn’t you take the buy out?! You’re at risk for no severance if you don’t come in
I’m planning on just not coming in and basically getting myself fired.
@je we’re all getting assigned offices come January so it will be pretty noticeable once ur absent.
will send a big middle finger to them
@je I’m considering the same. I don’t plan to quit but will make them fire me instead.
I'm not planning on quitting, but I'm also not planning on coming in. I'd rather make then let me go than do it myself
