Yeah the weirdest part is how this company continues to struggle with evolving and the same medicine over and over is just general cost-reduction layoffs instead of target leadership and management layoffs, rot is from the top down.

@k1 To be fair this problem existed before Cisco folks joined the party.
The average engineering competence in the company always been pretty low. Those, who were somewhat competent, were “promoted” to management.
More ambitions ICs left for the better companies.
As a result we have mediocre ICs, under no less mediocre management (because having good hard skills doesn’t mean good people management skills!).
That’s been going for decade and rooted deep in the company’s “culture”.
IDK at this point if this company can be saved.

Useless engineering leadership, has been failing year after year to deliver anything committed, whatever bit was delivered, is all very poor quality. Having new CPO doesn't help, needs to fire engineering leadership (Panos, Jonathan) that is all Cisco mafia only talks no outcome!
