I’ve seen some previous posts on NJ WARN but no real clarification on whether VZ has filed/notified. Sounds like they have been able to skirt this in the past, but I assume not this time with significant layoffs happening in a 30 day period.

@c1 actually, I couldn’t really understand the real deal with the other posts that I read, so that’s why I came here to ask and get clarity. Did you just post a bunch of words that didn’t help answer anything and waste everyone’s time? Maybe be low-value elsewhere!
So you already have read a post about it, saw the answers and just wanted to make another post about it to see all the same answers? You should go talk to actual humans and maybe step away from the computer for a little bit.
NJ WARN notices are posted after employees are notified.
Example if 11/20 is the date, you can expect to see something posted shortly thereafter with the off payroll date of 2/18/26. This is how notices have been handled in prior years as well.
@a4 actually that’s not what it means…
To comply with the NJ WARN Act, employers must pay terminated employees at least one week of severance pay per full year of employment. If an employer fails to provide the requisite 90-day advance notice of termination in qualifying situations, the employer must also provide an additional four weeks of severance pay.
@a4 the WARN notice means all laid off will technically be employed for 90 days after the notice date. So you get an email from HR on Nov 20, then for 90 days you’re technically employed but not working. that’s the notice period.
@a4 not true. If you give them a notice but pay them for 60 days then it does not require a notice.
so this 11/20 mass layoffs is fake news.
New Jersey WARN Act requires employers must give at least 90 days’ written notice before a mass layoff (50+).
This site is total trash.
Something stinks in New Jersey.
