VZ cannot put you on the list if your out on dissability..lol just some info

A VZ employee who can't spell "disability" is quite concerning. It sounds like you, too, should be RIF'd.

Saw it first hand years ago. RIF took place, weeks went by and a team member who was out having a surgery returned to be told they were part of the RIF the day they were scheduled to come back. I’ve also seen someone out on LTD be let go by HR via letter to the house back dated saying you were let go a couple weeks ago. Local management had no clue and later hired this person back when they were healthy enough to work again and a position opened up.

original post is simply 100% inaccurate and not based on any facts at all. You're out on STD, if you're on the riff list, you're riffed as soon as you return, if you weren't notified prior.

I been through multiple rifs.

If you’re on the list and out on disability; they wait for you to return then let you go.

Being out on LT/ST disability does not shield you from being RIFed. Companies are careful with RIFing employees on disability as they could have legal exposure if the employee can show the RIF was because of the disability. Verizon Legal has this buttoned up. Our admin was Riffed while out on STD.
