If you are NOT a salary employee, and Macys calls you on your day off DO NOT ANSWER unless you need the money/hours desperately, you SHOULD not be “on call” at an hourly pay rate. Your schedule should be made in advance.

I did not experience this at Macy's, but I did on a previous job. I told my manager they reminded me on my review that I needed to leave my personal life at home and not bring it into the workplace, and I'd appreciate the same treatment by them by not bringing the work place into my personal life. I never got another call at home again.
Even if you are on salary, you don't have to take every call.
