Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Just RTO, it’s not that hard!

I’m sick and tired of all the RTO complainers on here. If you don’t like it then you should leave. You complain and complain and yet you stay. No one is forcing you to be here. It’s time to buck up and go into the office like everyone else and like you all did before Covid. The company simply cannot afford to pay for your afternoon tennis lessons, golf rounds, 2 hour boozy lunches, laundry, Costco runs, child day care, etc. the list goes on and on. Too many people have been stealing from this company far too long and it ends now.

It’s very simple, just go to your designated office Monday to Friday from 9-5 as prescribed and be with your team members and actually work. I quite like RTO as do the majority of others here. Your colleagues are at the office. It’s time to Return to Oneness (RTO) and actually work.

Well, then we can all just be sick and tired of each other. I am sick of posts like yours. If you want to go to the office, do it. It's an outdated mindset. Sure hope you aren't on my team, I'd be hoping you are on the list.

We dont have an office to go to... what do you want us to do, work from starbucks. Ge-z just because you work from a Verizon office doesn't mean your working hours are somehow better than mine from home. I work harder than most people I know in Verizon and they actually go into offices. I dont need water cooler chats and the free coffee machines to get my work done, just a laptop and internet.

9-5? ha. 7am most days, working with offshore teams. 9-5 sounds relaxing 🤣

@a4 Yup! SOME! I am not going to play games with terminology, if you do not understand my point, that explains a lot about your character and ignorant comments. I obviously cannot speak for every single remote worker. I can speak of the people I know who work their a-s** off from their HOME office. You think you can speak for all people who are remote and claim they slack off all day. Ignorant!

The majority of the leaders don’t even care if their employees come in anyway.

Don’t be such an a--hole. I personally work my aas off everyday, for more than 8 hours when I’m home. I agree though that there are some people who take advantage of it. Those should be the people punished, but don’t lump us all together.

@a3 “some actually work” is hilarious. You just proved my point. “Some” is not good enough and is why everyone must RTO.

Some actually work and way beyond the office hours with none of the nonsense you all mention. Back to back and overlapping meetings all day long! Eating lunch/breakfast during meetings. Don't make blanket statements and assume all people who are remote do personal tasks all day. That is just wrong! Yes, some people are likely to take advantage, just like the ones who slack off in the office. Lazy, unmotivated and off-task people are found in both settings! Some of my WFH colleagues bust their a** all day long.
