Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

People who are left, how are we feeling?

How is morale at the office? My team has lost so many people this year it feels strange to go into the office and have basically no one around. How is everyone doing?

@fz you’re bi--hing about returning to office when some people never left and got laid off. Welcome to the real world of putting pants on over your underwear before you login for work

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Skydance plan is to bring this company down to the studs and start over. They can get rid of the old and bring in who they want. It’s looking that way more and more.

Wait till Monday, January 5th when 5 day RTO starts and ask your morale question again.

@cc dude, why are you trolling. 7 days of pto is what you give an intern.

I’m scared because it feels like this isn’t over.

Not feeling great. We lost some really amazing people who were such great assets to the team. I’m not excited. After so many rounds of layoffs and seeing so many good people go it’s just hard to feel positive. Not to mention that my plate was already full and now that my teammates were cut I’m expecting that their work will fall on me and my boss provides little to no support.

I’m excited for the future. Despite what everyone here thinks of him, I think DE has some really great ideas. I can’t wait to be a part of them.

I am very much in shock and feel really sad about losing so many colleagues that I have real friendships with, and have been in the trenches with for over a decade. After losing so many people from our department, I feel like the few of us remaining are like the band playing as the Titanic sank. I have felt really sad about it all.

It’s so awful. Can’t figure out why they kept me. They are obviously making the cable next least important but then it boggles my mind why they kept so many programming positions, and high level at that. For what??

@b5 I heard we’re possibly moving to 7 days of PTO. But that’s just a rumor I heard.

@bt I agree. Sure it was sad to see people go, but a lot of people who got cut weren’t really contributing anything to the team. Now my team is an efficient and lean team that can work to the best of our abilities and get the credit we deserve.

If at all the leadership can explain if any further layoff in plans or we all done will help feel one way or other

I actually feel pretty great. I think DE is cutting the excess operations from this company in a really smart way. This is also such a great time to step up and accomplish more work to help me stand out from my colleagues. I think there are so many opportunities right now and it’s exciting to me.

@bg it did exceed 1000 because most opt ins left as well.

It would be nice to know when the next round is. Hard to feel any sort of relief when only about half of the layoffs happened

I survived. I have survivors guilt and feel sick to my stomach that there are tons of people waking up Monday not having to log in and having to navigate this terrible job market.

Phase 2 coming up and we still don’t know the plan. No set date for Phase 2.

Everyone in leadership is mum. Some layoffs I understood in retrospect, others made absolutely no sense and put teams in an incredibly difficult position.

I don’t feel any sort of relief that I survived. I feel like the layoffs far exceeded 1000, based on what I’m hearing.

There seems to be no future plan in place for what they are doing. It’s too bad because I love what I do and love the people I work with.

Not feeling excited, not feeling hopeful for the future of this company until they tell us more. Aware some areas of the organization has been hit harder than the rest but departments I work with are still top-heavy - EVPs, SVPs and VPs all mostly in place. I would have thought they'd have looked at at strategic contributions and outcomes but looks more and more like they did not do their homework for these layoffs. The poor leadership will continue.

The layoffs just occurred so there are a lot of unknowns. There will certainly be a reorg but the top chiefs haven’t conveyed that yet. These next few months are always pretty quiet with the holidays around the corner. I definitely think more layoffs will occur. It’s just a question of what teams and how many.

I’m really curious how PTO and other benefits will change. They most certainly will be moving legacy employees over to the Skydance structure as soon as they can. I’m just happy to have a job but looking to get out before full time RTO happens. This last year has been sh-t.
