CEO announced a one time $5,000 year end bonus for 98% of the employees that are below grade 15. Nice gesture but its probably because they are going to cheap out on raises AGAIN. Hard to take anything they do at face value, always a seed of doubt with this bunch of scrooges.

What a bunch of deadbeats that are employed by this once great company. Most all need to be fired and replaced by contract workers.
I tend to discount any comments made by a person who 1). complains about getting an extra bonus that we've never had before and 2). doesn't know the facts (bonus was announced twice at $4k, never $5k. This was a retention -type bonus and I guarantee it will not affect your yearly bonus (although I'm sure you will complain about that too).
I'm really amazed by how some people will complain about everything...
Wish it was $5000. Pretty sure he said $4000.
