Due to the current economic climate and the future efficiency of AI all major companies are making cuts to keep up with the rising costs to do business. Even if AI isn't a realistic strategy companies are all in because the potential is too great to ignore. Vote for leadership not party affiliation. We are experiencing the impacts of almost 10 years of horrible leadership decisions at the top that trickle down to companies across America.

Verizon had already been streamlining retail operations for 10 years, starting back in 2015 when it signed a deal with Infosys and reduced operational roles in stores. Fast forward, most stores were remodeled with the mindset of selling to indirect agents; the limited-service kiosk was tested in at least two locations in the South Central market. Verizon also reduced, if not completely gutted, its leases in nationwide malls. And in 2019, most store locations that were not considered anchors every 100 miles did not have their leases renewed. When COVID-19 struck, it simply deferred the 2020 roadmap for the retail industry. In the last six years, A.I. has overtaken chat support and general inquiries, while stores direct customers to call in for account maintenance, or a user needs to pay for face-to-face assistance with device setup. None of this should be shocking to a retail rep. Given the numerous options for continued education while employed, and with few employees taking advantage of that path, commission sales make sense to offload to a third-party agent since Verizon is clearly not making returns on its investment with the quality of employees.
An Indian? Yes we already know that we are being outsourced
A.I. is one of the customers biggest complaints when calling in. A.I. also helps 0 in the sales process. It only slows the process down, causing errors in system and making transactions take 3 times as long. So why waste billions investing in A.I. again? Can someone please give me a legit reason for this?
Americans elected a conman who is openly accepting bribes for pay to play. It will never trickle down
@ff they'll never figure it out because those leaders will get paid regardless and move on to other boards. They already gave themselves parachutes recently. They're set, we're not. We'll get a slap on the back as they escort off premise while saying we're family.

Seems to track with the earlier post.
Senior executives are cutting headcount betting on AI. They're chopping too hard and too fast. The AI tools are not at replacement levels. The pendulum will swing back in about a year, but it's going to su-k for a while until leaders figure it out.
