Is GVSE Being Reshaped Into Early-in-Career Roles?

Anyone else seeing what’s happening in GVSE right now? From what I’m hearing, any new roles are being restricted to grade 7/8s. Combine that with all the automation initiatives being pushed on us (auto discounts, auto del reg approvals, auto emails via Gong), and it really feels like the intent is to make these “Early in Career” roles going forward.

For those of us who’ve been here for 5+ years, it’s hard not to feel like they’re trying to clear space for younger, cheaper talent. There’s almost no room left to be strategic or to bring real experience into the process. Leadership has done little to help us adapt to this new pod model. No real enablement, no clear direction, just constant change with minimal support.

Honestly, I’ve never felt more de-motivated in my career at Cisco. It feels like the GVSE space is slowly collapsing, and we’re being left behind in the process.

Wondering how everyone else is feeling in the GVSE space. Am I just being paranoid?

GVSE absorbed a mature Meraki Salesforce
Now I can tell you 80 percent of the experienced mature sales people have either quiet quiet or are interviewing
You have a mix of grade 9s and us
Cisco will sooner or later get rid of the expensive grades in this org
Why have someone expensive when Gong and Beyond Ready can do about the same work ?

GVS is an early in career org, the micromanaging and constant how to calls show it is for people who are still learning

Even within Cisco GVS has a stigma, if you want to continue at Cisco leave GVS

Sorry to say it sounds like you just don’t know how to do your job. I’ve been here 8 years and am absolutely zoned in on driving customer outcomes, dictating terms to my partners and telling the front line manager to kiss my BWC! GVSE is absolutely the place to be if you want to be surrounded by nepo hires and CSAP’ers who can’t sell. Enjoy the ride get to next year and hope they lay your old behind off. If you mid thirties, forties still GVSE better be looking for something else…prefabricated outside of Cisco!
