With how things are going, getting severance might have been the better outcome.

I was also spared and now have to take on work that both my now laid off colleagues and supervisor used to do. No promotion or pay increase. They both rec’d more severance than expected, have the holidays off and never have to worry about this place again for the rest of their lives. I too am jealous but we had no way of knowing. Plus I’d be worrying about finding work anyway so will do what I can and making a plan to move on.

@a7 It is always better to be employed and be able to plan a change on your own terms vs. being forced out.
I don’t know if I’m better off or not having gotten laid off. It feels like a lose lose either way
