@av It was supposed to be until they lowered the number of people getting laid off today from 2,000 to 1,000. Now there will probably be another round of 1,000 in the future.
Does anyone have any info whether this will be the one and done or..?
@an something better will come from this… But it su-ks…
@an Sorry to hear that! Was it an important position?
Phone call that my position was eliminated
@ah Now it's your chance to be a true leader, create jobs and treat your employees the way they think they deserve. Lead by example.
People are getting called one by one to tell them they're safe or not. Those who have been told are given no real reason and HR doesnt seem to be involved at all. No package info sent either to those affected. This is pretty typical and heartless this time of year and to do it a day or 2 before the new month starts so you're sc--wed with health benefits immediately.
True leaders create jobs, any hack can cut jobs
@ae my management slacked us suggesting we all work from home.
@ae WFH details wouldn't come from DE. You would only get that from your line manager or business lead.
Why no WFH details for today as many expected?
Probability estimate if you forced a percentage on David email as per ChatGPT:
~90% chance it was written by a human communications/HR team, possibly with AI-assisted editing (e.g., Grammarly, Word Copilot).
~10% chance it was drafted initially with a generative model and then heavily human-edited.
In short that’s classic corporate HR language, not a raw AI draft.
No info on how many times an hour I’ll need to refresh my email all day.
Atleast an acknowledgement Email . But no information whether its done with a single day in US or in splits .
@a4 I wonder if I'll be told I'm redundant or that I'm no longer aligned with the priorities of the company.
Dear All,
When we launched the new Paramount in August, we made clear that building a strong, future-focused company would require significant change – including restructuring the organization. As part of that process, we must also reduce the size of our workforce, and we recognize these actions affect our most important asset: our people.
We want to be as open and direct as possible about the reasons behind these changes. In some areas, we are addressing redundancies that have emerged across the organization. In others, we are phasing out roles that are no longer aligned with our evolving priorities and the new structure designed to strengthen our focus on growth. Ultimately, these steps are necessary to position Paramount for long-term success.
That said, today we begin the difficult process of informing impacted team members across the company. These decisions are never made lightly, especially given their effect on our colleagues who have made meaningful contributions to the company. To this end, we are committed to supporting all employees through this transition. Members of our HR team will be working closely with business unit leaders to share detailed information on benefits and transition services. Additional questions can be directed to AskHR@paramount.com.
We are deeply grateful for your hard work, professionalism, and resilience during this period of transition. We remain confident that Paramount’s best days are ahead, and we’re committed to building a strong foundation for the future.
Thank you,
David
Has anyone received more than just the email from DE? (In other words - a lay off email?)
@a1 Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, blah. Corporate doublespeak and boilerplate CEO talk.
What does it say?
