Yes, I have seen Slack AMAs several times over the past few years.
It's normal, BAU, no concern.
99% of it is fluff with preselected questions (or cherry-picked questions) and scripted answers.

Finance had a Slack Ask Me Anything years ago. The questions came so fast it was chaos. A dozen softballs were answered.
