We were recently informed on a call that all cross trained store positions are going away.
Current cross trained store level employees are being given a "choice" of pharmacy or front store. But with hours the way they are not sure how this will work. Especially once the new year starts.

sounds like they made the decision to sell the front store and CVS will maintain/rent the pharmacy like some pharmacies do in Walmart, Costco etc. Makes sense since retail margins are 0.
I actually think this is a good idea. Pharmacy or front store, pick a side. Corporate was making such a big deal about having cross-trained employees, but it only sc--wed the front store, because it was a one way street.
