@OP Those are known as “evergreen” roles. They’re always hiring because the jobs are awful and the people with the qualifications are scarce. Pay is generally poor to average. They usually expect to burn you out in 1-3 years.

Apply if you’re desperate. Chances are you’ll at least get a phone screen if you’re even remotely qualified.

We advertise on LinkedIn job openings and when no one applies or when no one is qualified we apply to the US government for an L-1 visa for an employee from our technology center in India.

L-1 Visa: This visa is for employees of multinational companies who are being transferred to a U.S. office. It is divided into two categories: L-1A for managers and executives, and L-1B for employees with specialized knowledge. Applicants must have worked for the foreign company for at least one continuous year within the last three years

Yes they need more tributes for the sacrifice, and more meat for the grinder. Out with the old, expensive and experienced and in with the young, new and clueless. Many employees have left or been piped out so exxon needs more pipees for the system. I love the look on the new hires faces when then realize how dysfunctional baytown is and what a mistake they made. A new hire HR person told me exxon was committed to moral and ethical behaviors. I told them one day you will see the inappropriate, corrupt actions of the company and its leaders. The HR employee has only been at exxon a few months. I asked them why were there openings in HR if exxon was such a great moral company. Once HR employees find out they cannot help employees and they ae only tools of the corporation they quit. Baytown is a dysfunctional he-l hole unless you are connected and protected.

A few things.....

People have quit and people have been put on performance improvement plans.

A lot of people are leaving because they see no long term future in EM Engineering with EM offshore government much of the work to India.
