Well that’s how it used to be back when Intel made money and products.

OP hasn't been at Infosec that long. I've seen VPs in that group yelling at interns in what were supposed to be meeting to highlight the intern's contributions during the summer.

No one has commented on OPs shot at infosec. Is HR going to rein in their abusive behavior?

@c4 cuts to the workforce aren't over and the higher you get in management the more they know about it. A lot of fat has been trimmed and those who could leave on their own have. The job market su-ks and won't be getting better any time soon. People are won't be able to get jobs at their current pay levels so they are getting scared. Intel will burn through the influx of money that other companies were forced to donate. The pop in the stock price will be short lived. Intel is a broken company and nothing has fundamentally changed.

@dz
There is a difference between arguing points and hostility. A fine one, yes, but a difference. We should be able to have heated arguments, but the minute it becomes personal, it needs to be shut down.

Used to be called constructive confrontation. Was also a class. In fact I would say things started going downhill long ago when I didn't hear yelling at meetings with people disagreeing with stupid s instead of drinking the Kool-Aid. Then they started the disagree and commit b**. it seems like now even if you have the data and the facts but aren't part of the Pack you get railroaded.

Pretty normal for asian run companies. If you don't have data to back you up...you will be yelled at. Do your job with seriousness and you can too start yelling at others. Join them.

2 words: constructive discharge + hostile work enviroment. These are the two issues that I see with ‘leadership’ who saved their jobs. I’ve talked with many engineers and the heat is on but folks are not playing nicely.

Recent destruction of social norms and business environment stress has unshackled workplace tirades. FDA has eliminated access to chill pills so it will only get worse.

3 words:
Hostile Work Environment.

Take this up with HR, and inform them the next step will be lawyers. Especially if this is a pattern.
