Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

Is there an official Layoff Policy & Procedures Document?

Just want to see what the guideliness are rules are. I am not asking for this to be leaked but if you can point me where to look at internally I'll find it myself. I dont want to ask HR or my mgr.

@ah everyone received an email, zooms were setup in addition to the emails. This is HR policy.

Large groups or whole departments being laid off got the conference call treatment. The ones I’m laying off this time I have a script to read.

In the Sep 2024 layoff I found out the day before (Monday 9/23) that I was going to have to deliver the terrible news to one of my directs via a Zoom call. I was given a script with talking points curated by HR and informed that I had to have the conversation before a certain time, at which point they'd get an email from HR. I believe I had about an hour from the completion of the VH All Hands to when the email was to be sent out by HR.

As soon as the VH call was over I was instructed by HR to reach out to all those that were safe via Slack and let them know they were safe. I'm sure all those that are people managers had to go through this protocol. I'd imagine it's probably the same this time around.

@ag I can confirm this is not correct for my department. We had Zoom meetings for layoffs in 2024.

@a5 not true at all. All managers who are notifying people have a script to read from. As a manager it makes it not very personal but HR makes you stick to the script.

There’s no guidelines because there’s no repercussions. They can do whatever they want. The billionaire class rules us all and throws us away like broken toys.
