Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

It is a deliberate policy folks

I simply cannot believe what is going on here - the bonus debacle, the pay freeze, the silly stupidity of the senior managers and YET they are still in their positions. In any normal company the CEO would have resigned after teling everyone that bonuses would be paid and then this is counter-manded by the owners.

My firm belief is that this is a deliberate policy. They are actively demoralising people and you know why? It is cheaper for them if people leave than having to pay them off. Sheer economics. Thats why the Hobbit is still in his cave and not drawing the dole himself.

What pay freeze? Raises are going ahead. Not supporting the actions ... But let's be factual

Yep I totally agree. I feel that I'm one of the good engineers that remain but despite my job being pretty much assured for the next 3 years, I don't want to be a part of this re--rded company any more. Zero career progression and a CEO and senior mangers who are completely uncompassionate. This is not a nice company to continue working for.

The problem with this method is that it is usually the most qualified employees which leave by their own initiative. Although probably doesn't matter much at this point, and I'm sure management is still paying bonuses to people they really want to keep.
