Trying to play in AI and Quantum Computing with no credidibility.

@dg SquirtShift is more like it!
@dg yes, they are like headless chickens running around trying to catch the latest buzzword to put on LinkedIn. First it was ET&I can cursed by the airhead in command Liz. Now they have been dumped under Papi the p-o. I empathise.
I work at Outshift and I have to agree. It's tiring to work here, the leadership team has no clue what to do.
The pockets of good are usually ki-led, because they can't find a home. The rest is not good enough to try and find a home, and rots. The best, walks out the door.
I was amused to see even CR posting about QRNG on LinkedIn. QRNG tech is over 22 years old, with heavyweights such as ID Quantique (IDQ) and Toshiba being in the market for 22 years and 7+ years at least, respectively. Then there are the startup ecosystem in the same field. South Korea Telecom launched mobile handsets with IDQ chips on them in Nov 2020 in the middle of the lockdowns. That was 5 years ago, just for perspective.
Now, 5 years after the QRNG market became saturated, Cisco has built a QRNG device and the CEO is boasting about it. Embarrassing.
Cisco is also boasting about solutions to connect two quantum computers. How do they know it works? Have they actually connected two quantum computers to verify if they can transfer information? If so, what kind of hardware did those QCs use? Superconducting. Photonic, trapped ions …? No clarity on these very important questions. Just baseless claims about “entanglements over optics”. Pathetic.
Then we have the endless posts about Agentic AI. What are Cisco customers going to do with Agentic AI and why? Agentic AI based large scale solutions have enormous problems in customised deployment from perspectives of compliance, stability, management, security, COST … the list goes on.
Cultivated cluster nonsense.
Outshift, lol
Outshift is not good
My unit is inshift, meaning once my shaft is grabbed I plug in and plow!
Cisco can't get off the AI & Quantum bandwagon until they figure out a new shiny object. It'll be interesting to see if G2 can pivot.
Outshift is a Cisco internal innovation incubator that is always 10 steps behind.
they have "created" a bunch of useless science projects mostly around AI and quantum.
I've never ever even heard of that. Please elaborate for us outsiders.
