Seen many management who are excited to work in office just chat most of the day. They are usually standing around chatting for hours whether vacation, weekend sports updates or filling others on vacation during work hours. Most of the day boasting to everyone in management some made up miniscule accomplishment.
@ck they should set up anonymous tip lines for us to report the dead weight so an independent 3rd party team could monitor these slackers and cut them loose based on hard data proof of their lack of productivity and time logged on actively working. No more protection from direct ADs or Directors. I’m sick of it too.
@b5 is absolutely correct. I work in a large department that supports business customers and I’m appalled at the waste of time I see - and they get away with it. I see co-workers that are/is on personal calls at least half the day, run out twice a day for food and then settles down and works the last 2 hours a day,while I’m head down working hard all day. Has been there 20plus years and I’m sure has learned to work the system we have at Verizon. Many are very protected…

I work about 2 hours a week as a Sr Mgr. Most of my free time is spent shopping online while I’m in the office, and playing on social media. On my wfh days you can find me playing pickle ball, golf, and managing my multiple fantasy football leagues.
@aj Very true! Even Hans was gone same day. So we could certainly go without layers of pointless management and toxic VPs.
Too many Sr.Mgrs that have no direct reports and too many that have less than 3 reporting to them-makes zero sense. They should have never done the title refresh and dry promoted people to an inflated title that they really didn't deserve. VBG is saturated at this point and top-heavy, with nowhere to get promoted to.
Anytime layoffs are mentioned, half these losers think that their work is so important that they won't get let go. Nobody is above a layoff.
Certain orgs are way worse than others. Every-time I look someone up in network (because no one can write a fu--ing order right anymore) I am amazed how many layers there are in those orgs. It is absolutely insane especially since the only valuable work being done is in the bottom 2-3 layers, making the least amount of money of course. The other 10 layers sit in unproductive meetings all day long while their teams are actually doing the work.
Everyone thinks they are worth more and deserve a promotion. That is why there are so many layers and why they added level up on top of that.
It’s a mess and there is no desire to make the changes. They are going to ride it into the ground.
