Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is there a set timing for mass layoffs?

Do we expect notices coming before holidays or post or both? Before holidays is just cruel. I get the quietness cause last one was leaked and it was a horrible experience. Given the severe budget cuts for some groups + eerie quietness feels even scarier.

@cc I enjoy cranking in my car to and from each of my properties in and around RTP. I also have my Cisco gig as well as another corporate tech job.. which I hot spot into both work laptops when Im on the road. It’s beautiful. I not only lever up on my properties and stock portfolio but I love getting multiple streams of income + two six figure plus corporate jobs that require little to no work and receive hefty commission checks + bonuses at both. I absolutely love whenever both checks hit just before my free cash flow from my properties hit. I’ve timed this all up with my biggest climax for the month and I absolutely explode all over my vehicle for like 10-15 seconds non stop! I love this life!

@b1 agreed. Mass layoffs are coming and it will be bloodier than usual. The Splunk rollover has been a problem. Cisco has now learned they can't buy their way out of the hole. Cisco's Rules of Acquisition, stolen from Star Treks Ferengi, is no longer working. In fact, it is digging the hole faster. Best solution is for the board to remove Chuck and most of the C-level leadership. Then start clearing out the old rusted barnacles controlling the SVP level spots. They are the worst - contributing most to our once proud company's horrific decline. BTW as soon as my Cisco stock was vested, I always sold it and put the money in the other tech giants. Have had a massive return over the last 20 years. If I had kept that rotten Cisco stock, it would be pretty sad looking in comparison. Very sad. Like a lump of cold mashed potatoes. Lump of cold mashed potatoes pretty much sums up Cisco lol.

@c2, I do exactly what you said except that I don't hold two two corporate jobs. I end up spending a lot of time managing my rental properties. I don't know where on earth to find another job like the one I have in Cisco that pays so well but requires so little effort.

Just do the work assigned, as assigned, and be happy with your 10 hour week. You really can easily do two corporate jobs at the same time. Fall back on the other one.

How can Cisco not to continue mass layoffs. The growth of Cisco was/is built on acquisitions. When the business was growing in the 1990 and early 2000, this was not a problem. However, this strategy is working against Cisco now because the core and culture of Cisco have become very corrupt and toxic. Once a new acquisition is merged into Cisco, it soon become a liability from an asset. One can easily see what happens to Meraki and Splunk lately to understand this. With the increased headcount and a flat top line, mass layoffs are a required to keep the company afloat under a bunch of incompetent management.
