Anyone have the full list of American universities we no longer recruit from? I think it is a shocking list.

I would like to know how they picked the list of which universities to cut and keep. I suspect it was not based on data or the right criteria.
@139 your 100% correct White Women are the total beneficiaries of DEI and they say they are allies but, they are conniving slurs…White Women will destroy their families and communities in a heart beat.
Recurring theme here… w-ites love to minimize capabilities of the brown female, who generally work twice as hard to get half the respect as white female counterparts. W-ite gals rarely labeled as DEI, you save that for browns but aren’t smart enough to see that w-ite females are the greatest beneficiaries of DEI. They have their w-girl cliques, and systematically tear down outsiders. Look around at ALLL the senior jobs held by w-ite females, many of which had 2-3 babies along the way, but you guys prefer to f around talking about brown women in mostly low level positions. Your racist views and narrow minds don’t allow you to see the big picture …. or reality.

People from top schools aren’t looking for jobs in O&G. Nobody wants to start their career in a stagnant/declining industry known for mediocre pay and constant layoffs. Yes, it really is that simple.

You were obviously let go becoase nobody wants to be around you. It’s not some massive global DEI conspiracy. Plenty of people of are just straight-up a-holes.
Also, the incompetent females/brown people are no more incompetent than the incompetent white men. Pretty much everyone is bad at their jobs at this point, mostly because they stopped giving AF.
Now grow TF up and move one with your life. I promise nothing that you post here will change any policy that you don’t like.

The HR department wants to hire people that represent more their customer base than some elite male centric engineering school. They are looking beyond diversity and are seeking to repopulate the workplace with a new culture and identity.
We have stopped recruiting from some great universities and are going to universities that are not top of anything and no one knows about. What gives?

If you don’t like who they’re getting, then step up and train them. Otherwise sit down and STFU.

I don’t see how you “build up” a proficient engineer without at least a bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited university.
For non-technical/financial roles I don’t personally see the need for contributors, but managers should definitely have a minimum bachelor’s. You have no business leading university graduates if you didn’t graduate from one (sorry/not-sorry).
This post is a good reason why our company is in the state that is in. Why recruit people from universities instead of building up employees that are already with the company? People with zero experience won’t be able to help the company.
I had to Google about 30% of the target schools on that list. That tells you everything we’re hiring nowadays.
You may actually be surprised. Schools we haven't visited since pre-covid we are not actively recruiting and hiring from.

@OP American students are smart enough to know that there’s no future (or present) in O&G. They apply elsewhere.
A lot of the drudge work that once fell to entry-level employees is also automated now.
We now recruit from universities in the US that are basically glorified community colleges, it is weird.
