The lists are sent to HR it seems, just a matter of time. Will be significant as Jason wants to do it once per year, so at least it's one and done, but he needs to meet AOP... At least they'll keep everyone for the bonus and December vesting...

@qm I did not take the decision to turn my contract remote. And it is not me who decides to stay remote or to get back to office. I can decide though whether I work "diligently" or I don't. And I do and some of you do not

@qm personal experience here.. as an employee who was acquired as a remote worker with no office within 100+ miles I take huge offense. Remoteslacker. My hours are expanded and there's no temptation to coffee badge. I do my job and then some. But haters gotta hate I guess.

@j0 Every Indian engineer works diligently, you say. Let me doubt it. I work with many of you and I can assure you, you do not. What makes you think you are that special?

What makes you think you are that special?

That’s exactly the question you remote workers need to answer. What unique skills do you have that justify being exempt from the in-office work policy for such a long time? Let alone the work output, most of you are just slackers.

Jeesh dudes, stop w the anti-Indian stuff (American tech vet here). It's the companies offshoring there and visa-exploiting here, it's not on them to take the gig/program d-mb greedy corporate US keeps offering. FYI, Hock is coming at Ireland (Cork) very hard on their in-office attendance, so remotes there aren't being forgiven nor spared. That's even covered in threads on this site.

All Indian engineers need to be systematically removed.

@j0 you should definitely bring this issue directly to Hock. Send him an email. List all of your grievances and issue demands. Get everyone in your office to sign it.

U got this lil bro!

Why are India engineers being considered for layoff again while there are still many legacy remote workers in Ireland? Every engineer in India works diligently and we are working in the office every day. Our CEO has emphasized many times the importance of the in-office work policy. Is ESG management acting against our company policy deliberately? I will bring this issue to Hock if India engineers get laid off while the Ireland remote workers are kept.

Jason is scrambling to increase ESG revenue. He failed miserably. We all will be paying for it. Many heads will roll soon. This time it’s massive.

APJ - Especially Symantec Singapore & India sites will be reduced significantly. There’s a possibility that the India team will take over Singapore jobs, especially the engineering side of things. If you’re developer/engineer in Singapore, you’re in danger because it’s cheap move things to India. Will share more once I have more information. Best of luck everyone.

The layoff news is true.
U.S. employees will be notified around November 1st, while APJ employees will be informed at a later date.

Good luck to everyone! Being laid off is not necessarily a bad thing. ESG doesn't have too much time left.
