Thread regarding SAP layoffs

NTS

Some questions about NewTown Square

Do colleagues still go into the office?
What is the vibe/scene like?
Are customer events still taking place?

Is Cafeteria still very good?

I haven't been there since leaving in 2019 and was curious about the campus.
Always remembered very friendly front desk staff and security guards

Wishing everyone the best

@fs Of course the breakfast is amazing. Just imagine what would happen if Chuck Norris was disappointed with his breakfast!

The breakfast omelettes in NSQ were amazing. Not sure if they still have that one dude working the breakfast station. He was funny and I tipped him well

I am also aware of the discussions to move everyone into one bldg. My team lost their dedicated space in NSQ1 and had to begin using so called virtual space when they choose to come into the office. This means there is zero collabration with team members, you don't even sit together and sometimes not even in the same neighborhood. So what's the point of coming into the office??

When Asam was in NSQ last month he saw how much wasted space there was and how little the two buildings were being utilized. They are aware from the badge swiping on the entrance as to how many are in the bldg on any given day. They know it is now a white elephant and will make a move to reduce the footprint. And if they are planning a larger HC reduction and then less need for all the space, then for sure having Asam on the campus will prove to have been a mistake.

Internal plans are that SAP will consolidate from two buildings in NSQ into one.

The remaining bldg will be either sold or leased out. This is basically what happened some 15 years ago when we sold off half the campus and built NSQ2.

Difficult to see this happening to what was a great campus setup, but the business is not what it used to be. SAP is no longer the company it once was.

First floor of NSQ1 looks like an empty display store that specializes in hip-looking but utterly useless office furniture.

And for some reason, the store also sells factory assembly lines because there is one of those on display as well.

I heard a rumor that there is going to be a Spirit Halloween on the second floor and NSQ2 is going to become a Wawa soon.

As of 1Q2024, the cafeteria was the best part.
