@2jz doesn’t the MBA and OOM have very similiar roles. And neither of them do any merchandising.

@3q5 most likely one will go to the CXM. The SM would decide. In our store the OOM stayed in position and picked up SMM . The SMM went to a CXM. Each store would be different based on the individuals.

Well what happens if they combine the two roles of SMM and OOM, which one is demoted or loses their job? We are down a CXM, would one them go to that role instead? Does the SM control this, or is it divisional?

@30h so funny!! Guess it depends on your MBA. Ours runs the store when the SM is not there and most of the time when she is . Its 2 levels down... only a director and SM are above the MBA.

@2tn I have also heard rumors about changes coming to MBAs nothing specific yet but that store managers will have a call in the next couple weeks about the changes

@2f7 MBA is nowhere near the capability of a store manager. Also. Several levels below.

We had the same thing happen in our store . Lost a CXM and combined OOM & SMM positions . MBA took AYS . Store manager said more changes to happen at the beginning of next year . Possibly fulfillment and receiving to report to the MBA as well .

@2jz our SMM just combined with our OOM role Now they are both 🥲😅 I know this is a common occurrence but we were struggling with them being separate roles and we are short a CXM now too gonna be a rough holiday season

I feel like they would get rid of the SMM role before they got rid of the MBA or OOM role, At my store anyway. My STM has been hinting about it for the past year, but hasn’t done anything about it.

@20p I thought MBAs were the backfill for the Store Manager role

Tuttle Crossing Mall and Polaris Fashion Place Mall will be announced for closure. My uncle is a liquidation consultant with Tiger Capital Group. He is getting to deploy once stores are informed in December.

Hard to believe that the only store in Columbus, Ohio will be Easton

Our store is a $30M door. Our MBA role was combined with OOM and we gained a CXM role.

@10y I had heard the company wants to increase the number of Directors company wide so that they have a backfill plan for all Store Managers roles

What about no directors in non-flag doors? That’s a big one! Less ability to move up, no training ground for the senior director role. Just terrible.

It happened to us this year and we do 27 million. Don’t be surprised if it happens to your store. We lost a 1 manager position within the store and with the realignment our MBA picked up AYS and the OOM had both duties of OOM and SSM .
