Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Upcoming US reorg is just another addition to the creative attrition box

The goal is to cut people or make them quit. Every tactic that pushes employees out is cheaper than paying them to leave. Exxon has turned into an intricate matrix of exploitation and attrition pressures coming from every direction. No wonder it’s now the king of toxicity. And it’s not as if the job is worth going through the wringer for. A couple of years and done seems like the only reasonable way to deal with this hellhole of a company.

Man, some of the comments that get left on this site and the others that get taken down is baffling. Most organized bunch of bu77-hurt individuals I've ever seen.

@fm true to an extent. However the company can't discriminate based on age or how close one is to pension eligibility. And they are definitely discriminating based on age.

Unfortunately, ExxonMobil executives' approach to NSI/NI/PIP since 2019 is legal in the United States. Employees have no rights in "at will" employment in most of the 50 States.

@bg

Bruh, bruh - it had nothing to do with culture wars. I was strictly making a joke about Darren. You're the one that made it about culture(s) and hot-button topics.

Our company talks about the energy TRANSITION. If you can't jest, GTFO of this board.

@b7 Downvoted not because I like the guy (I don’t), but because you derail every thread on this board with your culture war BS.

The proposed solution is not functioning as expected, and I will remain until I am ready to go.

@OP Agree. Also, every publicly traded company seems to be doing this.

The attrition fucc-fucc games are typically followed up with full-on layoffs. That’s aside from all the creative ways they come up with to pay you less.
