Please explain an actual reason to work for this company besides a paycheck?
PTO and healthcare is offered at most
jobs for the same rate, same holidays off and more if not the same amount of PTO and paid sick days.
So why should people be loyal? Why get mad when some of us are choosing to stay because we’re actually good at our job and the job market su-ks? Trust, the moment the job market improves I will leave and find better but again with 2k people applying to the same position kinda hard to go where you want.

The devil you do know is better than the devil you dont.
I've been here 25+. Not afraid of change, I've been offered jobs locally and recruited. That said, I do believe ageism is a thing here and I'm almost at that point. Always good to have backup skills as well.
I love my manager, She can legit do the hands on work anyone can do, and the day she retires, which i'm assuming will be within the year, i will see who she's replaced with. She has good people who can step up to replace her, and one useless one. The day thats announced, i'll start looking if the replacement is sub par.
@dx I feel so similarly, change is hard.
The stellar health insurance 🤣
WFH is a rarity in my field and schedule flexibility.
I don’t think anyone here cares if you go. This is a layoffs website.
Anyone who is loyal to a multi-billion dollar company has very very little life experience. Doesn’t matter what company.
Being transparent: I'm afraid of change. I've worked here for over a decade, the environment and people are familiar. I've figured out a lot of the 'political' landscape of the company. I can navigate something I'm familiar with better than the unfamiliar. It's not that I love the company, it's that I've become comfortable in my role.
I don't do any big favors for the company. I work my hours I'm expected to work, then I dedicate my time to my family. The company doesn't do heroics for me, so I don't do heroics for it. They get what they pay for, and I get paid for what I do. That's the simple answer in my case.
@dq hahahahahahahahahahahahshshshshsh
The people. The caliber of people we get to work with, and alongside, is simply amazing. I just love my colleagues at UHG.
