Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

More tariffs, more uncertainties, and more layoffs

November through February is going to be challenging, unless our current administration stabilizes the market soon.

I just woke up from a dream where Hal and I have to say good bye.

But wait, Is it that easy to move?

just pack and land as if they wouldn't run without you and are desperate for you. Get a reality check, Bro. Everybody is replaceable, more so if you are in the higher-ups.

Yea guys. What are you doing? Just simply move to Singapore. Probably the stupidest thing I’ve seen on here.

There are a lot of openings in Singapore. Instead of complaining, maybe you guys can move over. We need lots of training and technology transfer. :-)

@ef read up on how global economy works. Halliburton being a global company, we have customers outside of the US. It makes perfect sense to shift work force outside of the US to cater to the global market and reduce costs. With all the tariffs and uncertainties it is impossible to plan and run a global business from the US.

@ef You don't have to look any further than your own employer to see how wrong and uneducated you are. Sorry if that hurts.

HAL will continue to offshore jobs. You can look at jobs.halliburton.com over the last 6 months to two years to see this "lever" getting pulled for shareholders. There are 39 jobs in India alone right now. The majority being professional roles. There are 15 openings right now in Houston for comparison. Where is Trump on that??? Is he fixing Halliburton for you?

HAL will continue to cut everything else whether white collar or blue collar whenever prices drop and are expected to remain depressed for a long period of time.

The only goal here is for executive management to prop up the share price and maintain the dividend. EVERYTHING else is secondary.

Treating politics like religion is a class warfare trick to make you ok with being laid off and unemployed, and still go back and vote for "your guy".

Tariffs will never work because this is not China. The other party will eventually return to power and throw out all the policies that are in place. Regardless of if its a good idea or not. The other party be definition is not capable of doing anything right. Because of this everything Trump is doing is a joke at this point and will cost people jobs and make everything more expensive...whether I like him or not.
