Thread regarding SAP layoffs

So sorry for everyone who was laid off

I hope you all land good jobs soon, where you’ll be truly appreciated. Times are tough, so I’m wishing you all the luck. Just don’t forget that it’s almost never about your performance or potential, but the usual corporate politics and greed.

Honestly, tech industry is benefiting from the current authoritarian politics around the world. They are de facto enabled to carry their reckless agenda treating people like disposable garbage as soon as they are done with them...no one is striking or making noises. They are creating recession by throwing millions of employees on the street to fight for a fist if job. Less purchase, so our dear customers will also invest less in certain technology in the long run if their profits are dropping...but hey, in the short term the board pockets will be full and when things go south...well their serveance is going to be a big fat check. Win win

As my first very good boss who hired me into SAP over 15 years ago always reiterated, regardless of technology, coding, algorithms, Gant charts, every business is a PEOPLE business. As you search, place a premium on ethics and compliance. That way your authentic self and your soul can’t be destroyed by the opposite. Life after SAP is very good.
