Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

OPO closing lol

We can't fit everyone at the Deerfield office but that's the point: Layoffs are inevitable and they want people to quit. Stick it out for your severance and WARN act pay.

@av ngl I’ve been spectacle since joining. I would imagine this company experiences record turn over rates. seems like it’s always the employees who get the blame. Praying for Walgreens, genuinely.

@af Walgreens has been a complete dumpster fire for some time now.

Why waste all your energy..You will never leave, until they let you go. NO one else will hire most of you...so good luck.

@ah But Tim said Sycamore was different than all those other private equity firms that are only in it for the money. I thought Sycamore was here to save us and was doing so out of the goodness of their heart.

Let’s be clear about what’s happening here for all the blind people in this chat. Yes, Deerfield doesn’t currently have space for all OPO employees — but after the layoffs, they will. If you can’t see the writing on the wall, you’re not paying attention.

Sycamore’s playbook is well-documented: cut staff, reduce space, slash benefits, and then sell everything off for a profit down the road. This is their business model, and the pattern is repeating itself right here.

Now until Jan will be the continued shakeout phase. After that I’d suspect a reversal with returning some WFH days to those left. But then likely assigned WFH days to spread headcount evenly Mon through Friday. Cheaper than converting spaces for that many people 4 days a week.

The longer I stay at this company the more I realize it’s in complete turmoil. People act like it’s fine here but it’s really in turmoil :(.

They’re going to have to close The Green and turn it into office space and convert the old entrance into office space as well.

There is zero room at Deerfield and people are going to be working in hallways.

Everything Sycamore has done at this point has been to make Employee lives more miserable. They honestly could care less about Walgreens employees...

@a2yeah two rounds rumored 10% in Oct and an additional 30% in Jan. Along with remote employees expected to report to Deerfield in December or resign.

@a8 that’s incorrect…DF is JAMMED especially Tues-Thurs. There is no room.

There is space in DF, there is alot of open area that can be converted into desks and meetings rooms. We can get rid of the quiet area as well to fit more people. The OPO is not even close to being utilized at full capacity so I think we will be just fine

Deerfield is already over the capacity. I am sure there will be many layoff to make room for everyone in Deerfield office.
