With the announcements of executive changes this past week it only makes sense there would be a reorg. RJ is moving in new role and that shakes things up under him.

O&G has had too much fat for years and years. VH has been too nice. Time to at least trim the fat. Requiring in office 5 days a week is probably the most cost effective way to get that done. Targeted layoff might be the better strategy. No matter what, losing oxychem doesn't do anything for the O&G side. Still too many bodies.

Why would layoffs be required now in Oil and Gas. It seems like the Oxychem sale has nothing to do with layoffs. There are other reasons to lay-off but that is another story.
