Thread regarding Comcast layoffs

Any major C-suite pay cuts to offset layoffs?

Or is all the pain going to be felt down the ladder by the people who need jobs the most?

@2cf they get sued all the time you'll have no issue finding a lawyer. There will be records of it all to peruse

@2dk the price is the biggest complaint. If you think replacing the customer service with ai is going to save them good luck. All the jobs are going to Chennai. Plan accordingly, the job market is in shambles. The people I know from the first round in Feb are still unemployed.

@2cp GOOD! The frontline customer service has long been a sore spot for Comcast. Let's face it, part of the subscriber losses is due to the horrible customer service provided by Comcast regardless if it was an agent within the US or international. Leading customer satisfaction surveys across all industries, throughout the years, have never rated Comcast as "good" or even "fair." Comcast customer service has always been at the bottom of these surveys.

They are coming after all frontline employees across all regions. If you’re a frontline employee or frontline support and have been previously told your job was safe, it was a lie. They started eliminating thousands of employees in the north east region who were told their jobs were safe. Positions are being outsourced to India and the Philippines.

@2bh You're assuming they'd directly state that. If it's just a coincidence that 80% of the people shed are 57+, that's a wild coincidence but good luck finding a lawyer to go toe-to-toe with Comcast over a "coincidence"

@hg basing employment decisions on age is discrimination and it's illegal. Even if you take the package you can still sue.

Heard through an IT colleague yesterday that approximately 1,000 employees across Comcast Cable and Advertising, aged 57 and above, will be laid off and provided severance/retirement packages. The IT contact stated that they were given a report on the individuals, based on the high number of layoffs, as they would need to process the removal of their user credentials, company equipment returns, and other related tasks.

@OP no! Now we have two CEOs…. No one is getting laid off there…. since the company is doing so well.
