Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

News not mentioning offshoring

Has anyone seen a single news article that mentions offshoring is what is driving these layoffs? News seems to be totally oblivious in their reporting.

@OP BBC, PBS, and NPR have all reported on this, as has Bloomberg.

Do you even watch or read anything these outlets publish? If so, you’d know that oil execs had been talking about cutting “structural costs” (aka “jobs”) for months. They also regularly discuss offshoring and automation.

On point post.

Thousands redundant in 'High Cost' locations replaced by Bangalore staff. As unsavoury as that sounds, that is what EM is doing.

I have no time for this company whatsoever

Surprising reporters haven’t noticed the constant posting of jobs in India online. It isn’t rocket science!
