The worst ran division in the company, they say Columbia is bad? I guess it has a sister store now. Montgomery in Bethesda , Columbia 2.0 except no accountability

The DCMV Division is being run into the ground. STMs are incompetent; they don’t develop their leaders at all. And we wonder why there is not good talent on the east coast. It’s a shame the company had to pay for people to travel from areas as far as Puerto Rico and Miami, FL, just to do floor moves and merchandise the floor to the VMD. More than half of the functional leaders/sales managers are lackluster talent. Smaller volume stores are held to a higher standard and are expected to look like Tyson’s and Montgomery (with significantly less colleagues). Tony Spring and the BODs need to do a pop up visit to these stores across the division. I can guarantee they won’t get the same experience/presentation. The hospitality culture is a joke.
I am in the NY area and I know some people who were flown down there to help, too (right as holiday is starting!) What's the tea?
Yes we sent people to help also, company actually flew them there and is paying big money for the flights, hotels, and food. Can't believe it does much good though because it's all for the visit and doesn't really show that store in the true best light, that it had to have all this expensive help to look good for a visit? A few weeks later and it will all be a customer trashed disaster.
Oh wow! I share the same sentiment as the other poster, what is happening at those stores up there? We had to send some folk to help out?
Are sales bad, recovery effort, building infrastructure, credit goals not being met? Anything?
The Tysons Macy's needs serious help, it is easily one of the worst stores in thr DMV
Wait!! What’s the deets on this???
We had several colleagues from my store location go up to help some of those stores to prep for the visit at Westfield Montgomery and Tysons Corner.
For the latter, Macerich and Macy’s Inc are supposed to do a major joint investment initiative to upgrade both the Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s at the mall.
