I am looking at Teradata data social media pages. they are doing events that are burning cash and also hiring VPs. on the other hand, they are laid off many senior engineers. Can someone Tell me how many people are laid off? and why they did not release any press statement?

They don´t care.
They don´t do anything unless required by law. They don´t want to attract attention to their questionable actions.

The teradata leadership feels it's such a small number that they don't want to mention it.
Infact they did not even mention about layoff in all hands and someone has to explicitly ask about it.
If you are an employee this shows that they don't care and all they care about is planting trees.
They care more about trees than people.
From my understanding there were approx 200 laid off from engineering and other groups (i.e. PM) that are active on slack (that's based on names deactivated from slack channels on day of layoff). I don't know if there were others laid off that did not have access to slack.
