Red Flag Layoffs ahead: Hope You’re in the Inner Circle

It’s been made clear that some of the pending and recent “promotions” have more to do with loyalty than skill, especially in areas like Data Management and Product. RED FLAG with layoffs coming, because people who question the approach often end up on the wrong lists (look at that orgs perimeter list alone). Best advice: DOCUMENT your work, keep your head down, and be ready in case decisions are made to protect someone’s inner circle instead of the SMEs or high performers, sadly in that org it’s clear your work or having any skills don’t matter.
*** Be prepared to prove it, save everything!

Looking forward to sending an email and actually getting an answer without 30 people being added with no answer.

So what happens if the sale falls through? It feels like the bad records / bad info would make anyone second-guess buying this dumpster fire of a company.

Can't help but feel all of the "run as fast as you can" posters are hoping if enough people leave they will be saved. Typical flawed concept by what I'm guessing are nepos.

The inner circle is and has always been the problem.

Just run as fast as you can. This place has turned into an utter embarrassment. It's so bad here!

I disagree. Some of these bad Apple managers have been a part of the inner circle too long. There’s a particularly poisonous one in Ops that’s had a high rate of turnover this year alone. You can only hide behind the inner circle for so long. #worstmanagerever

As always with major changes and movers and shakers, there are three types of people:

  1. Those who “make” things happen.
  2. Those who “watch” things happen.
  3. And then those who are left wondering “what” happened.

Right now, I don’t think anyone is at the helm and driving the ship. CC is aimlessly drifting in the wireless sea. We’re all on the sidelines waiting and watching for any hint or sign of what is to come. One thing is for sure. Fiber and smalls cells will be a thing of the past with CC, as well as hundreds/thousands of people affected in Project Management, construction, permitting, upper and middle management, sales, support personnel like records, NOC, drafting department, legal, government relations, inventory management of fiber and small parts, etc. I know I missed many other departments and positions.

The only logical reason why the consultant VP is still here. Wasn’t she supposed to be gone a few months ago?

Any clear timeframe on when this will be happening? I see some offices are starting to close down and have date of closures so, was just wondering when it would be happening?

There is no inner circle. The inner circle is an illusion. You can still be part of whatever “inner circle” you mention but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

There will be mass exodus once they give out 2025 AI and right after the sale. Especially when they don’t give any raises this year.

Goodbye worthless middle and upper management. Time to run this company streamlined.

No one is safe the cuts will be severe and watch out for the “quiet” leaders who dress the part with blazers, glasses, polished looks… they’re the real snakes and you know exactly which VP I’m talking about. They act calm and smart they are quite because they don’t know anything, it’s just a costume to signal confidence and competence; there’s no real depth or intelligence behind it, and they’ll throw you under the bus the second it benefits them. True intelligence doesn’t need silence or style it shows up in curiosity, insight, and substance.

It might be better to be laid off now so you know where you stand vs. those in the perimeter that are still wondering WTF is going on. I am curious about the reasoning about why not updating LinkedIn. As much as Crown is a cluster, I don't see them doing anything nefarious. I am sure there would be some legal issues with that one.
