Can someone explain who is getting laid off?

We now have an unprecedented amount of competition, six medium and two large chains have come into the arena in the last three years. We have too many locations in too many places, many with overlapping customer bases. Several of our direct competitors fulfill customer orders in 60% of the time we take to do so according to Restaurant Week.
Most Starbucks stores in Seattle Washington and Portland Oregon operate at a loss. So those Starbuck stores should be shuttered, and their Starbuck associates should be laid off first.
