The virtual participation trophy -World Gratitude Day

How did you feel when you got that heartfelt message from Jenna? Does it make you feel special to be part of a mass mailing that arrives at 4:09am?

I feel like I become just a little bit more cynical every time one of the c-suite millionaires expresses gratitude en masse for making them a bit richer everyday while we worry if we’ll be able to meet our next mortgage payment if the email ‘tap on the shoulder’ from HR happens.

@jp Shout out's dont count lol... Inspire points are not an org to org budget. It's a DELL budget. Every inspire point given is actual money leaving dell (who do you think pays for those gift cards you purchase?) Yeah, I can give awards all day long if they don't involve actual points.

I delete everything that person ever sent me. No idea who she is, nor I care.

@fa - I've sent 3 inspire awards in the last 2 months and all were approved. Sounds like your org su-ks or you leadership doesn't like you. I can understand why based on your comments here

@d5 I get plenty of inspire awards/points - I had 20k last year alone - but like I said... who cares about those? We end up paying taxes on them and I'd far prefer money over points which I turn into amazon cards. Which is cool but again, we pay taxes on those Insperity points. I'd rather be able to turn those points into real money that can be used towards bills and gas.

The ironic part is that, even Insperity points are being limited now because Dell is too cheap to even allow employees to use the "reward" system lol. Nobody cares about a "shout out" with no points attached to it.

@e7 pretty much +- zero yes.

I also told mgmt to not give any such cr-p.

@d4 Does the tax exceed the value of the award? If not, you’re complaining about something extra?
I hate paying taxes too and in the US we also pay taxes on the award but we also say thank you.

I officially reported it as a Phishing email

@bg I wonder if your lack of success is more due to your terrible attention to detail, as you refer to “Inspire” awards in every way but the correct one.

Ah the old Inspire awards that in EMEA they have to pay tax on, plenty of us told each other and mgmt do not give them to us.

Did the same thing I did for any email coming from JC and containing "all in": added a filter that sends them directly to my Junk folder.

This is Dell's way of "boosting" morale I guess lmfao. They say to use insperity to show gratification towards those who deserve it/went above and beyond/etc... yet, last time I tried to do just that it was denied because there were no funds for it LOL.

Promotions have been MIA for YEARS now. Raises have been as minimal as possible. Bonus's have been I guess OK.

So my question is, how are employees supposed to stay motivated to work "above and beyond" or even well? If promotions aren't on the table then in all honesty, do the work YOUR level is supposed to do and nothing more. If raises are gonna be minimal, then what is there to work harder for? IDGAF about inspertiy points but it's something at least?

Personally, I'm just doing my job well enough to keep my job. Deff a top performer but like, I'm not going out of my way to do extra things or take on projects anymore because why? The guys who are above my title can do that cr-p. Promote me and then I'd be glad to take on more work but until then? I'll be doing the max amount of work for my pay grade/IC level as I have no incentive to do more since promotions are MIA.

@OP The best was the “Sound Bath” with gongs and singing bowls. Like what the actual F? They would be better off not doing anything than insulting us like this.

Are you talking about the mass "shout out" insperity award lol? If so, then it was apparently her "favorite time of year" to thank all of us for our hard work and bla bla bla...

Cool. I'd rather not have that pointless "shout out" because it's meaningless without a dollar value. At least put 600 points into it or SOMETHING lol. Or better yet, bring promotions back? Or better raises? idfk but if she/they think that a "shout out" insperity "award" means anything to anyone, she's delusional AF.

Give us MONEY. The only reason anybody works at Dell is for a paycheck and money. That's it. A shout out from someone who's likely pulling in a few hundredk/year + RSU's, + massive bonus's, but can't even compensate the people who are responsible for her income, some measly insperity points... means nothing. to anybody. tf am i supposed to do with a "shout out?" lol.

@a8 If she'd asked for us to be All In, well, maybe it would have helped morale.

It's fake. They can't say anything because it would expose so many problems and spur so many questions. Imagine being in those meetings to see them debating the deception. This has been going on for decades upon decades.
