Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Nvidia to invest up to $100B in OpenAI... while Intel get's only $5B. Wonk wonk.

Chipmaker Nvidia plans to invest up to $100 billion in artificial intelligence startup OpenAI under a new agreement today. On the other hand, last week Nvidia is going to invest $5B in Intel. That's a 20:1 ratio... just shows you how much Intel is worth. Not much.

5B is to please Trump. In return, Nvidia will be treated better by government without pay high tariffs. Intel is a political we-pon now with the government protection.

Intel is begging money from other companies too.

Articles are now being written about the extensive round tripping that NVDA is doing with OpenAI, CRWV and SMCI.

Not sure how this is even considered legal by any reasonable accounting standard, but do note that this 'economic' activity is virtually the only part of the market which has been in a strong bull market for a few years now.

Not a surprise this is happening in an adjacent space to what happened in the internet build out. These system require such scale that it almost takes this kind of circular economic activity to do the build out. Similar shenanigans happened when railroads were expanded to the west coast, oh so many years ago.

History may not repeat, but it often rhymes.

This ends in tears.

The 5B to Intel is a donation pushed by government.

Lucent, Enron, Nvidia? Hard to say. If it is, then AI infrastructure is the largest bubble ever.

The Lucent and Winstar "round-tripping" scandal refers to a fraudulent accounting scheme in the late 1990s in which telecommunications company Lucent Technologies artificially inflated the revenues of its client, Winstar Communications, by booking revenue from transactions that lacked genuine economic substance. This enabled both companies to deceive investors.

The floor is dirty and wet. There is a ruler on the floor. Do you pick it up and wipe it off or do you leave it there?

Look down

You may have noticed that something doesn’t measure up.

This will make NVDA not look like a monopoly to be sued regularly. Anything with Intel will not yield any fruit believe it or not.

@a7 In the summer of 2001, Global Crossing began discussing a transaction with Enron in which the company would pay Enron $650 million for its fiber-optic network in exchange for Enron paying the company $650 million to use the network, a move that would boost both companies' revenues without costing them anything.

Nvidia does this with all their major customers/investments.

It used to be called round tripping, and was illegal (just ask Global Crossing, oh wait you cant), but now is apparently totally ok and fine.

You know, like mu---ring people you disagree with.

Got eeeeem!!

Nvidia will soon control the ways, means, and magnitudes of the market in which Intel is allowed to play.

A short-term bump for INTC stock price and tangential inclusion in Nvidia’s ecosystem in exchange for Intel giving the authority to define if, and how, it exists.
