Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Stop telling people to quit

A lot of folks say to just quit if we don't like it here, but that’s not realistic for everyone. IT jobs aren’t falling off trees right now, and we'd be competing with a lot of people, especially those of us mid-career or older. Best thing we can do is land something first, and that takes months, if it happens at all. So no, I won't quit for now.

As a recent joiner from Juniper I am absolutely stunned by the number of people and non-value add organizations within the company. I didn’t realize we were stepping on the titanic and Juniper is the life preserver

No.

I’ll tell people to quit until HPE actually designs their products and stops relying on cheap labor and third party manufacturing companies to make and design their products, stops saying they have had record revenue making quarters yet still laying people off, provides a better 401k match, Antonio gets voted out of the company, provides better raises and bonuses because sales doesn’t do their dąmn job and prevents the entire organization from getting what they deserve, stops promoting AI as if it’s something they invented, actually making products that are completely unique from Dell and other competitors, and stops promoting people who kick their manager’s aşses.

This company is an embarrassment to American technology and it’s not even designed or made in the US. This company doesn’t have innovators. They have cowards who like the easy life while their Asian counterparts are doing the heavy lifting.

Quit HPE. It’s a detriment to your career. You do nothing except comply to your manufacturers and suppliers.

Is that convincing enough?
