Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

RTO

What happened to that RTO post from this morning? I was coming back to check in on the thieves crying and "poof" it's gone. There didn't seem to be anything blatantly wrong with it.

@fj That sounds like other people's problem. I'm here to do as little work as possible for as much money as possible, and I've got the equation figured out. None of that equation involves helping other people succeed outside of my direct cohorts.

Personally, I dgaf if this causes Dell or other people to (not) succeed. Do you honestly think any of those people gaf if I succeed?

Quit acting like you're working for anybody besides yourself and it makes life 10x easier.

@ff Naw the area of the draoer building where sales sits is pretty much a ghost town on most days.

@eh I meant gaming the system like the incompetent support agents that mysteriously get all of the easiest cases assigned to them, then they reassign the cases to their buddies and their buddies assign the cases back so everyone gets a boost to their case accepts kpi. And after spending 30 minutes doing that they brag about hiw awsome they are compared to the rest of the team and watch Netflix/go out drinking while on the clock. This is the exact behavior that contributes to dell's decline and the subsequent perpetual layoffs.

I think it heavily depends on the org and what the VP's+ of that org want you to do...

For my org, they only care about badge swipes. How long you stay is irrelevant as long as you swipe your badge at a Dell building. Meaning, if you drive to the building, swipe, and turn right back around and go home, that's fine with them.

Sales on the other hand, I think got the massive po-p on the stick end of all this as I'm pretty sure they HAVE to be in office 8 hours/day.

@e9 of course I'm gaming the system, didn't you see the part where I was at a beer garden at 10am on a Monday with my Mouse Jiggler keeping my dot green?

Frankly if y'all AREN'T gaming the system, you're not trying hard enough or you've got a skill issue. They've focused on building a culture of paranoia, anxiety, and burnout with their silly RTO policies, awful tools they (try to) force us to use, and constant rolling layoffs. I'm not gonna sit in front of my PC for 8 hours a day hoping I don't get fired when I can do the absolute bare minimum, still succeed, and have an equal chance of being laid off as somebody who works 4x as hard as I do.

@dn You're either gaming the system or your goal was set too low if you're truly already at 134% and slacking off when you shoukd be working.

@dh another incorrect trash take. I'm at 134% for the year.

Anyways blaming the lowly peons like myself for Dell's decline instead of the ELT is the most clown take I've seen all day lol.

@de and people like you are the primary reason dell is on the decline.

@d8 you're the reason bullying exists lol. Hope you get all the swirlies you deserve for that trash take.

  • Sent from my iPhone at Cosmic Beer Garden while my mouse jiggler keeps my Teams status green.

Su-k it nerd.

Snitches get stitches. Feel free to report what you want but you should also be aware that you may suffer personal consequences.

I think the thieves that need reporting are the ones doing their lawn during the day, grocery shopping, attending appointments, etc. All while being clocked in during the work day. The ones that are RTO property would need to use PTO for many of those tasks.

@as yeah this behavior is rampant. I'd report it, but the biggest offender is one of the 2 managers in the building and he has a reputation for making life he-l for anyone that crosses him.

What "thieves are you referring to? The ones that go into the office to do maybe 2 hours worth if work then spend the rest of the day bullsh-tting and playing pool with their buddies?

@aq We were told there same, however our director manager unofficially told us to spend at least one hour in the office and "The rest of the day is up to you." But yeah I have intentionally came to work sick and came in early to touch everyone's work stations with my unwashed hands to ensure the company takes a hit in productivity.

@a1 we were told no flexibility with RTO. If you are sick or have emergency when you need to work from home you must take a PWT day or vacation day. No exceptions.
Lot of people with covid/flu will be coming to the office.

So who manages this site? A neutral 3rd party or Michael Dell…

I think they take down blatantly false troll posts. It has been clearly stated that there is no minimum days or hours required and it is up to your manager.
