Joining Exxon as an Experience Hire - Watchout

Planning to join Exxon as an experience hire in mid 40s. Any watch out? Opportunities for career growth exists? Heard Exxon uses performance review as tool to reduce headcount. Any advice.

You will be ranked lower from year 1, you are just fodder for nep babies, blue eyed blonde women and tall mid-country men with 5 kids or more who remind senior executives of their younger selves.

You are doomed, in fact in the official database you are labelled as an ‘experienced hire’ to make sure there is no mistake like career success for you.

As an experienced hire, your time of employment maybe 3 to 5 years. Currently, a larger amount of engineers are resigning from ExxonMobil or taking extended sick leave. In ExxonMobil, your just a number.
