RTO Mandate starting November

I was just told by my manager they are enforcing and requiring everyone in the company regardless of title to be in office 3 days a week starting November. I believe the announcement will be this Monday.

@h38 What are TR security personnel supposed to do if there are agents in our parking lot or force their way in? What are we supposed to do if we are unfortunately in their way or at the wrong place at the wrong time? You think maybe leadership should communicate expectations?

@h38 OMG it's one of those "you don't have anything to worry about if you have nothing to hide" government bootlicking people ...

We are obviously not allowed to ask about this at work, but what is TR doing to protect us at the office from let's just say scarcely legal govt intrusion? Are we safe at work? What's the protocol if we get hassled and who do we talk to or not talk to?

@zt This is my issue. I am now driving 45 min 1 way to work alone which I can do at home. If my team were in the same office as me, Id be all for it, but thats not the case at all.

Is the business reason for mandate consistent, fair, backed by data, or financially justified? The only reasons I heard from leadership is for collaboration and we have to do it because other companies do it too. I feel like some US office locations are going to close anyway no matter how many people show up.

Why not lay off fully remote managers of managers? Right, they are CTO, SVP and VPs

@hg - you are spot on. My drive to the office is quite far while others with the same role are much closer with 100% remote. I get what SH is saying with in-person collaboration but what if everyone you collaborate with is remote or overseas? Nothing like going into the office to collaborate 100% online.

I think 100 percent remote employees will be targeted in the coming layoffs. Not managers but regular workers who are not able to be forced back in

It’s true that CTO, many technology, product and marketing VPs ++ are 100% remote. Must be nice to have one set of rules for themselves and another for others. How does TR win Great Places to Work trophy with such discrimination?

It is just hybrid employees.

That doesn't make it any less despicable.

What offices does TR have beyond MSP + Bangalore, Hyderabad, Manila, Mexico, New York City, São Paulo and Toronto?

Its ridiculous. Not to mention things have been going dowhill since their 2 days a week mandate, let alone 3 days now.

I wonder where they are getting their 'data' from.

Why only hybrid employees RTO? Same roles, some are hybrid and some are 100% remote. How does TR justify that? How can CTO and VPs be 100% remote while peasants must RTO?

As much as I hate RTO, have same rules for everyone.

If "strengthening our culture and collaboration" was so important, why to they keep sending our jobs overseas? I don't attend a single in person meeting.

So we go from not enforcing 2 days a week for everyone to now suddenly 3 days with much more limited spaces across all offices? And of course its after OHI

Who are the VPs and above that are 100% remote? Is it true that CTO is full remote?

Unfair, double standards and discrimination that some employees get to stay 100% remote and others have to RTO for same roles. Keep same rules for everyone. Why this discrimination for same roles? Calling this out will only make company retaliate against you. Many VP and above, in all functions, are full remote.

100% remote stay that way, but ppl in the system that are hybrid, no matter if your manager themselves is remote have to go to the office 3 days a week

@eb good question but I can't imagine they do that easily. Lots of people don't live near an office etc.

My manager has yet to inform us. She's 100% remote in a state with no TR offices and a nepo hire.

There are offices that are excluded initially due to office limitations. Those offices are Bangalore, Hyderabad, Manila, Mexico, New York City, São Paulo and Toronto. They will stay with current in office expectations - 3 days for directors and above, 2 days for all other roles

We know the plan is to move remaining US jobs overseas by 2026. Just lay us off now. Enough with the games.

If that’s going to be the case could they at least let us have our own desk so I don’t have to clean someone else’s hair, crumbs, and spills before I can even sit down? We can’t even have a wastebasket for crying out loud. If you don’t want me to work there anymore just say so.
