Nvidia only invested in Intel to get the current administration off their back. $5 billion isn't much and Intel is notoriously inefficient so it will be gone by the end of the year.
If there is a way to squander an opportunity, Intel will find it and execute on it.
This was LBTs plan all the time. Get the govt and Nvidia to prolong the inevitable. Make millions and retire even richer

Considering that about 10% of NVDA employees (3,700 out of 36k) used to work for Intel, it shouldn't be a surprise that some kind of partnership should eventually happen.
This might hurt specific AMD products if they are unable to do a similar deal, but they will be fine.
Nobody buys AMD laptops and this move by Intel-Nvidia will make sure it stays like that
