Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Uncon Permian Misalignment

I recently started working in Midland and have been amazed by how upset and demoralized everyone is. Seems like each group sees the other group as their enemy. Serious lack of harmony. Has it always been this way?

It just keeps getting worse with the hipos who don’t have a clue about UNCON barking orders from Houston and cycling through assignments rapid fire as they promote each other.

Waiting for oil price to crash and then suddenly these HiPos will be out, not sure what is better tolerating them or living under the fear of low oil price

Funny how a couple of years ago it was nearly impossible to get people to work in UNCON. Where is the thanks for those who were willing to when no one else would? Now that other opportunities have dried up all the hipos are showing up taking the jobs that those who have put the time in to actually learn UNCON should be promoted into.

@zh Great another future executive checking the box just what we need. Heaven forbid we actually promote someone who has been working in Midland into the role.

@107 come on. If you knew who it was by the initials you wouldn’t have to ask for the initials. Seems like you want this thread to get deleted. Stop baiting people.

@ry @ry A hipo who isn’t even going to bother moving to Midland. Don’t worry though as I am sure they know all about operations and projects and will have the best interest of operations and GP in mind at all times. Plus they will visit the basin often enough for photo shoots and whenever high level managers visit so they can share some talking points they don’t even understand.

Who replaced the engineering manager that left?

The main challenge in Midland right now is getting everyone on the same page. There has been lots of change and continues to be with reorgs, centralizations of groups, engineering manager quitting, etc. We need a good 6 month run of uninterrupted operations to get things integrated and aligned.

It has definitely gotten worse the past couple of years. Hipos cycling through amd not even bothering to move away from Houston to the basin. What a joke.

Delaware BU has been a mess for years. That’s where most of the people have quit.

One issue is the pxd merge whatever you want to call it. This has been worse than the XTO deal. Power struggles back and forth. Houston wants a piece of the action and just rogue entities through out. What I’m waiting on is being ranked with these guys will be fun. To answer your question I’m not sure. I know they always thought uncon was midland.
