We’re already seeing data showing AI is far from what was promised. Everyone rushed to adopt the latest corporate fad, but it simply can’t do what they claim. I’m not naive, AI has mostly been an excuse for layoffs. But with how deeply it’s being forced into everything, the cracks will show fast once its limits are hit and its true capacity exposed.

@bz they will never cut work weeks. They will cut people and make those who are left pick up the slack with their new AI tools. Doing more with less is the UHG way.
AI is mostly hype. It helps in some areas especially first drafts and it can help teach some subjects faster but then doesn’t really work well when the work becomes more complex.
But yet that’s not what all these computer and tech wizards are saying. One just announced that AI will be able to decrease everyone’s job to a 4 day work week. Imagine the savings to the company if they only have to pay their employees for 4 days.
AI not going to help if one has not a clue what goal is at hand. I dont think you can tell it we want 25% growth yoy in q4 and voila magic happens. The 300+ VP we have in UHG have not a clue what it can and cannot do just latest fad. I dont need an AI agent to sort through hundreds of useless emails. Just stop sending useless stuff to the entire distro list. Still have to manually figure out system architecture but may help grunt out the first cut of code that needs to be refined later. AI is not going to solve the turf battle of aquired companies trying to stay alive doing the same thing poorly.
AI stifles innovation and out of the box thinking. If we had AI 125 years ago, we would have a better designed steam boat, not the design for airplane, as AI draws from current existing knowledge AI is just a tool to synthesize information, it does not provide us with avenues to thinking something new.
